LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Union members are demonstrating loudly at the Capitol in Lansing, where state legislators may be preparing to consider so-called "right-to-work" legislation. More here.
Commentary: Yesterday, the good people of Michigan came from all over the state, on their own dime, to respectfully lobby their lawmakers. they got their information from a big tent on the Capitol lawn. When the day was finished, not a gum wrapper could be found on the capitol lawn. It was a well-organized, peaceful and respectful event.
Today, we have hundreds of reported union members yelling, chanting, and misbehaving. I wonder if this contrast will send a message to the members of the Senate as they consider and vote on a labor freedom bill.
