The Most Sensible Response to SCOTUS Ruling So Far

Daniel Horowitz from the Madison Project got it exactly right. There is no point arguing with the decision the Supreme Court handed down this morning. It will not change. What must happen is REPEAL, as soon as possible, not next year. Read his prescient essay here.

Will the Republicans in the House stick to their "mandate" from the voters and push for full repeal, or will they back down? Stay tuned.

Protect States Rights. Protect Shale Fracking.

Daniel Horowitz wrote a great post in red State this morning: "Shale technology coupled with horizontal drilling has created the biggest oil and natural gas boom in recent years. Fracking could become the most auspicious innovation of the past decade. It has already created thousands of jobs, and has the potential to drive down the cost of energy and reinvigorate our economy. Unfortunately, the more successful the private innovation, the more Obama’s regulatory regime will ensure it faces inexorable obstacles." Read more here.

HR 4322 has been introduced to protect states' rights to regulate fracking. So far, 27 members have co-sponsored, but none from Michigan. Take action now to encourage your Congressman, and especially the chair of Energy and Commerce, Fred Upton, to sign on to this bill that will protect states' rights and the future of oil and gas exploration for generations to come.

State Lawmaker Calls for Boycott of Men

"Stop having sex with us, gentlemen," she said, calling for a boycott of men if the legislation becomes law.

State Representative Rashida Tlaib is unhappy about the pro-life legislation that was passed in the House today. She was so unhappy, she has apparently called for a boycott of men. read the full story here.

Gary Wolfram, the respected William E. Simon Professor in Economics and Public Policy at Hillsdale College has written an essay that addresses the high legacy costs in public education. It is not that fact that teachers receive benefits, its the type of benefit plan that they participate in. Read his essay from the Michigan View here.
