Here is the text of an email from Karla Swift, President of the Michigan AFL-CIO:

CALL TO ACTION IN LANSING TOMORROW!!!!

The coalition opposing Right to Work is now planning to have another lobby event on Thursday, Dec. 6 with a goal of having 1,000 activists at the Capitol.

The staging and lobby training will take place at the Michigan AFL-CIO (419 Washington Square South, Suite 200, Lansing 48933) at the following times: 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Member-lobbyists will then be taken to the Capitol in waves. Following the Capitol lobbying on Thursday, at 1 p.m., all activists will march from the Capitol to the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and circle the building. A letter will then be delivered to the Michigan Chamber.

My personal opinion is that we can be just as effective, if not more so, by staying home and flooding the switchboards, face book sites, and email inboxes with communication. Stay positive and upbeat. Let the other side engage in negative campaigning. Your legislators will appreciate your giving them the respect their office should have. Just remind them you are watching and supporting Freedom to Work. Michigan has been at the bottom of the economic scale long enough.
