Tax hike!

It's all but official. The Senate will be voting tonight to put a tax hike on the November ballot. About $600 million. The good news is, you will have an opportunity to vote on it. There will also be a $1 billion reduction in the budget for next year, which means spending will be about equal with current year.

The tax increase would ostensibly, cover the reduction in revenue from this year to next year.

Watch this space for more details as they become available.

Based on reports, our vote will be on which tax to raise - income or sales - rather than a yes or no on raising any taxes. This is similar to the vote death row inmates get - firing squad or lethal injection.
