Another very long, very unproductive day

We were told to be here for session at 2:00 p.m. for the invocation and attendance. It is now nearly 9:00 p.m. and we are still taking attendance. We have been "recessed" about four times today. We are really getting good at recess. In fact, some of us are considering the purchase of some monkey bars and slides to install out on the Capitol lawn so we can play during recess.

The latest word is that conference committees are still meeting and we will have some budget bills and perhaps some tax bills to vote on by 2:00 a.m. Pastor Mike, I hope you understand why I may not make it to church in the morning.

This Governor is no different than a spoiled teenage brat who just has to have her way. If she doesn't get it she will stomp her feet and throw a tantrum. If that doesn't work she will manipulate everyone around her.

If that doesn't work she will sell her wares or favors or what ever it takes to get what she wants. She is no different than a crack addict only her addiction is your money and she must have it.

Are there any circumstances under which the Republicans who have said they won't vote for any tax increase will turn around and do so? I hope not; it will damage their credibility enormously.

@geoff,

That is the current battle that is being waged. The Dem's want a few token Republican votes so they can make it look "bipartisan". Right now, as we speak, there is hot and heavy pressure on the lawmakers that have indicated they are "open" to the idea of tax hikes.

As much as those Republicans have been warned, for giving in, you can bet they will face the wrath of their constituents.
