Hi Jack, I just met with a local successful businessman in Lansing who told me that his company's tax burden increased from $350,000 under the SBT to 1.1 million with the MBT. He was furious about getting the shaft. FYI.

Sort of hard to have to pay your fair share, isn't it? Hope you've enjoyed being subsidized by the large manufacturing companies who are so sick of paying everyone else's share, they've left the state in droves. A good business plan would have been evaluating the tax implications of the MBT and this wouldn't have been a surprise. Maybe you need a better accountant. We sure need some new legislators in MI.
'Scuse me, NTWS, but if the Legislature itself couldn't figure out what to do with the MBT even after they passed it, what is the business owner (large or small) supposed to do? Keep a staff psychic to tell him what they will do?
